Actually, AT$T can't exactly 'pull a verizon' and easily upgrade all it's 2G towers to 3G so easily. For CDMA, upgrading to EVDO Rev. 0 (and even Rev. A) was really just a software upgrade, while GSM and UMTS use different hardware (base stations, IIRC) and therefore require more effort (read: money) to upgrade. Basically, it's 2 networks at the same time ... and that requires more radio spectrum.

With regards to Engadget's comments on what ATT should be focusing on, it'll take less time to sue than it would to build out the network the way it should be.
Maybe this is why T-Mo and Sprint passed on the TouchDiamond2?
I'm pretty sure there will be a NAM version, according to BGR there will also be a version without comes with music.
Isn't this the first quad band 3g phone? apparently that's not significant enough for you guys ... way to undercut technological advancement.

sigh
can't the vibrations from the sub damage the receiver's components over time?
I saw this coming when they canceled most of the "Ultimate" line
That price doesn't make any sense. This is not a high-quality phone, nor a high-quality watch. For that price, I can buy a nice, unlocked smartphone AND a nice watch. The only reason to charge that much is is diminutive size and the exclusivity of it being a wrist watch. I thought we were beyond charging more for something small after the RAZR - just look at netbook prices even.

Just wait until Samsung copies this and puts it out for a more reasonable price.
Last I looked, this site makes you wait 6 months before you can even submit your rebate. Definitely not 'cutesy' as the name would suggest.
well, since we're combining smartphone and netbook, why not a phonebook? Who uses the paper version anymore?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
