RIM is taking the iPhones just because of the PIN Messenger that has become a necessity for those who want to stay connected in real time all over the world.

Apple better come with something similar very soon, maybe with 3.0 ?

I have an iPhone with an active AT&T contract, and an AppleCare contract, that got bricked during the 1.1.1 upgrade.

The Genius at the Apple Store in The Falls, FL denied me service arguing that the iPhone was unlocked, and the irreparable damage BS. I did install 3rd party apps and unlocked the iPhone, but still paying my monthly due to AT&T.

As per Apple Contract I'm obliged to activate and have service with AT&T, which I have. But now I'm supposed to keep paying AT&T for the remainder of the 2 years, without been able to receive their service, and basically an expensive 8GB iPod Touch.

Appart from all the blame I can get for having tried to upgrade in spite of all the warnings, is there any way I may get Apple to perform service on my iPhone, even paying for it ?

I know I can revirginize it, but that's not the point.

I'm a paying AT&T customer and I SIM UNLOCKED my iPhone to be able to use outside of the US without spending stiff roaming rates. I also opened it up to intall native apps that complement its functionality.

With out stealing away Apple's and AT&T's revenue sharing $s, I still WANT MY iPhone UNLOCKED !!!

Hope Apple acts accordingly to what their customers want.

I have yet to hear about how and when Apple is going to unlock iPhones from owners that are paying a 2 year contract, or have paid the stiff cancellation fee. Any one wonders what is going to happen at the end of the 2 year obligatory contract, or down the road on the AT&T contract, cancelling and paying the fee ?
Apple and/or AT&T should be ordered by law to unlock iPhones.

When will the winners going to be announced ?

Steve should have given us the iPhone UNLOCKED, carrier FREE and GLOBAL.
