Hey guys, shot you an email via the tips link, but here it is in a comment, a video of Rick talking about Linux and the role it will play in the future of mobile phones from Nokia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IZVIV37YRY
I hate to say it, but using a social network as a tool to enhance your real life social network is the entire freaking point. I can't recommend Jaiku enough for that and have a hard time imagining why anyone in their right mind uses Twitter. I follow 30 friends on Twitter yet I have upwards of 200 following me and I'm just a lowly tech journalist. Pownce has similar ideas to Jaiku in terms of UI, but they added that layer of privacy so you can send messages to only friends. It isn't a perfect tool, then again nothing is. I just want facebook to die already, this coming from someone who has been using it since it launched back when it was the domain of college kids and only college kids.
Ah Engadget, the first thing I read every day in the morning, even as a blogger with my own mobile site.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
