Not gonna lie. This looks awesome.
This is great, nice work Engadget!
Tom Tom sounds like fun!
My home is 20 minutes away from Manhattan in Nj. But I attend Ohio State. This is torture.
Whatever you do, buy used. From a respectable dealer of course, B&H, Midwest, Adorama, etc. Since this guy is supposedly committed, I'd buy either a D80/90. Or if he can afford it, a D200/D300 is really worth the jump.

Personally, I have a D200 and love it. But, will trade up to a D300 once the used prices are around $1000-1100.
Definitely the Kata Sensitivity V.

A really great review (sold me at least) is the TWIP (This week in photography) podcast from June 4th.
A new tv would be fantastic!
I think the real thing to wait for is the Z6c if it even exists. Because I love the styling of this phone, but don't need any of the useless TV crap verizon thinks is so fantastic. And hopefully at that point it will be on a different carrier so flashing the interface will be an option. Otherwise, I'll just stick with my anti verizon GUI Motorola e815.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
