Well, I just picked up a "used" (=unpacked once, never fired a shot, strap missing) D3 for the same price as a new D700. No denying that the D700 is a lot lighter which will make a difference at the end of a long day. On the other hand, the D3 is a tank, and I like the integrated vertical grip. In terms of picture quality - no difference whatsoever. I would not pay the premium for getting a new D3, but at the same price, mint condition - oh yeah...
There are actually people outside the US who read Engadget you know, even here in Japan... :)
I have no grudge against all of you yelling "Shopped!" or "Not!", but it's actually not that interesting reading threads where 90% of the comments are about whether a certain picture is altered or not... If you have some proof, by all means share it, if not those personal theories are mostly a waste of space.

Just my 10 cents...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
