@samuraisul : Nonsense, if you pick one of the new no-contract plans (which you should since you payed for the hardware), you active your SIM card and you are free to use it on ANY gsm capable device. You are under no obligation to tell them what phone/device you'll be using the card with.
I really hope these prices are once again rumors and the previous $60 unlimited holds true - otherwise all this buzz seems pointless.. we shall see
Still choppy/laggy on zoom/resize... XDA will probably fix it right up though. We'll have to wait and see till production model I suppose.
The device is strictly for 3G-enabled phones. I believe it had something to do with the complexity of handing 2G calls over to the microcell that made it extra complicated and unstable. Also, probably a good way for them to push 3G phones. While I hate the fact that this doesn't give you unlimited minutes, at least there is no monthly service charge (except for the electricity I suppose). I only have one non-3G phone left in the house, time to hit up craigslist. :P
Something like this is an alternative if you don't mind running your own cable.

This is one of the most excellent give-aways yet, let me get that foot in the door ;)

Engadget ftw.
Epic fail ATT, epic fail. Unless they have something better in the works, which I highly doubt. Can't wait for my last line to go post-paid.
I'll stick to my XTi for actual photos worth sharing, k thnx.
Now this is a darn good one - good job Engadget :P

Do want.
Time to replace the old desktop... come ooooooooon :P
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
