You can do this at a store. The no contract option was added to the activation process last week. Reps may not want to do this because they don't get paid on anything but a 2 yr contract activation.

As far as M2M, all plans (contract or no contract) are now eligible for the m2m feature. It's not considered promotional anymore.

Pay per use is going up effective March 1st. Text= .20, Picture= .30

If I were the legal reps for these companies, I would countersue him for all legal costs associated with this case.

Technology always costs more when it first comes out. Look at the v3xx for AT&T. Came out at 179 (after rebate). Now it's free after rebate.

The list goes on.. TVs, radios, computers, dvd players, etc...

If it is such a big deal, he should have waited a few months then purchased the damn phone. If people are this cheap, they shouldn't need the newest technology.
I could see this coming to AT&T since the N75 has been placed on the phase out list...
I work for AT&T and we still don't get a discount!

Did you know when the Apples stores run out of 4gig models, they're replacing 4gigs brought back with a problem with a brand new 8gig? Good stuff...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
