This isn't a competitor to the Leica M9, it's more in the same bracket with the upcoming Leica X1 which should cost $1500
For that price I'd rather spend the $300 more and get the Leica, or spend less and get the Panasonic GF1.
This is going to be the tipping factor for me getting a slim

That's a link to the E-P1. It says so, right on the left
F/4 is just too slow !
I'd rather go for the DP2 or the Ricoh GR Digital (f/1.9 )
It's French as well. Not sure of the spelling though, I always though it was as the got it "chin chin"
No it doesn't not need to have a bigger screen. This would defeat what it's supposed to be about, very portable.
If you need a bigger screen, this is not the device for you.

People complaining about the not big enough screen, no bluetooth, no enough powerful processor etc. is what is killing the low cost netbook. They are just becoming regular priced small laptops.

For those people that complain about netbook, just don't you just go out and get a small laptop with all the frills ?

"being unboxed and manhandled as only the kids at BlogEee can do it: en Francais!"
Not that amazing when you having the backing of a big company like AOL.
Many smaller blogs do not and can not have the resources engadget does with it's big corporate backing.
Thanks for the vid.
BTW, the ad. seems to be one targeted at the Asian markets, hence the reason "western" folks might find it strange.
Usually 570EUR means it'll be $570 sate side.
Almost all gadgets are cheaper in the US on a dollar for dollar comparison.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
