Can't I just install Chrome on any "real" OS and do everything in that video, while still having applications that are useful?
It's not an OS, it's a collection of browser stunts.
I love Google, but this is not too impressive.
That's a great commercial - problem is, the Droid looks like its interface belongs on the Island of Misfit User Interfaces. I took my wife to buy her one yesterday and the two of us recoiled in horror at how craptacular the user experience was. I love Google apps, but this thing is the clunkiest, buggiest, skitzophrenic interface I have ever seen. My wife who LOVES Verizon left saying, "Why does every phone that Verizon gets suck?"
I was really wishing that this would be an iPhone competitor, but it's just not.
I use Pandora, RememberTheMilk, and Zoho Office.

Jay,
I totally agree with you. You really can use Wordpress 2 to write quick little posts from your phone.
I wrote a review of Wordpress 2 right in the application to demonstrate how it works.
Nice post,

It's probably not going to be that valuable to very many people. Here is why I'm not that psyched about the Google Operating System

Any word yet on what Sony will do to cripple the device and make it utterly useless to any potential customers? I mean it is a Sony mp3 player.
If I win I will donate my mine to poor children.
Well, maybe just a childish middle class adult.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
