Newspapers are in trouble because they fancied themselves big business movers and shakers. They leveraged themselves too much, instead of keeping the focus on the quality of their product. If they fell back in love with journalism instead of the corporate-wide bottom line, their readers would fall back in love with them. But our affections, long abused, have moved on.

The speech was amazing. I think she did a world of good to Obama's chances. Does anyone have any real criticism of what she said and how she said it? No. They just have their own preconceptions and prejudices. Most Americans will respond to a speech like that because it is genuine and from the heart.

This idea could begin to address the rampant inaccessibility of touch-only interfaces. It'd be a shame to need a suitcase full of lids for different apps, though.

"I've found myself using my PC for a lot of conversations lately, and I'm also considering recording a podcast to share with anyone who will listen. There are tons of USB headset / microphones out there, and I'm hoping someone has some solid recommendations based on experience. I'll consider both headsets and standalone mics, by the way, but I'd like to keep the bill under $100 if possible. Help!"
