Sorry, but txt and pdf do not qualify as "most popular ... ebook formats." Try again later.
If that is something you need, you need to keep looking. OSX and iTunes have never been known for supporting sync with just any MP3 player, for instance. It is part of this whole Pre sync issue.
Did I really just load 30+ seconds of flash video for that?
@Sean

Actually, this was their "do it again." They did the same thing a few weeks before with some Ayn Rand books. Media response was fairly minor the first time. This is the storm for doing it a second time.

As for repurchase, part of the issue is that the owner of the rights to the books has not authorized ebooks at all (perfectly within their rights), so there is no option to repurchase them.
Good to hear, and some price competition would be most welcome.

But more to the point, hasn't it been about a year said they claimed they were starting their 3G rollout? When we see a status on that, then this will be of real interest.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
