Got a call from Verizon yesterday, regarding my order from Friday. The warehouse had cancelled my order saying "They are not authorized to ship that model". I was told to try back when the model phone is announced.
Tried it again, got a different rep. Gave her the SKU, ordered the phone, vehicle charger, holster with NE2 and ADD. She had to check with her supervisor who said if the computer lets them do it, then do it. Originally, she had no idea that the phone existed, but processed my order with no problem. Final price with free shipping was ~ $260.
Just tried it, Verizon customer service denied all knowledge of the existence of this phone... Gotta hope 9/24 is the real date.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
