@Ineed911
I can get better speeds on T-Mobile's EDGE now than on AT&T's 3G in my area... that's sad. AT&T's even pushed AMR-HR on 3G now... because of overcrowding vis-a-vis iPhone popularity. Wasn't 3G supposed to help with call quality??? I agree that AT&T's service has gone to the toilet, but I'd rather have decent price/month+decent 3G data service (even middle-of-nowhere Amarillo, TX has T-Mobile 3G).

Also, there's Stelera Broadband ISP which uses AWS for its 3GSM service, and a handful of other 3G-AWS committed regional carriers in the US that would like to have a piece of 3G-capable N-Series pie... Don't forget, many US regional carriers sell unlocked Nokia E- and N-Series phones (even with contract), so take that into account.

It's not just the national carriers that get to see this device.
I’m thinking this is going to target Latin America, Canada, and Europe not AT&T...

If you look at the specs posted on Android and Me (which posted the story last night), there could also be T-Mobile and Euro-only variants in the works.

I'm thinking this is a HTC-sort of move (TouchPro[2], for example) with a spec sheet spanning multiple models, depending on market.
@Ziv

There already is a Facebook widget for Maemo5/N900: http://maemo.nokia.com/maemo-select/applications/facebook-for-nokia
And, there's probably a bigger application/plugin (for chatting, etc) in the works somewhere.

This isn't the same type platform (it's actually a 4+ device platform if you include the older tablets) like the iPhone was around the time jailbreaking & Installer came out (that had a lot of programs that helped pave the way for the AppStore). Albeit, some of the old N7xx/N8x0 programs have to be recompiled, but a lot of the best ones already are (and some are even being touted as Nokia-supported) and the rest are only a couple steps away from being N900 usable. Plus, there's a lot of Linux/Debian support built in (or installable), so you can install programs like OpenOffice without too much effort (unlike Andriod, where all *nix apps have to be recompiled to work with it).
It will, if you sign up for WIND or Dave Wireless when they debut in CA sometime in the next year.

The first major software update is supposed to include portrait mode rotation (including the web browser). There's actually an internal build mentioned on the Maemo forums (and a couple youtube videos) that show it.

Fennec might also have portrait mode as well.
I have Safari 4.0.3 on my Tiger (10.4.11) backup installation (just updated to it yesterday), so that is probably why Apple made sure that people knew that *iTunes* stated it required Leopard or later to work.
There's been a Vista x64 version available since 7.6, and you can find workarounds for the Vista x64 version to work on XP/Server x64...

As for the Mac side, no there isn't a 64-bit version yet.
@Dave

Anyone can change a Boost iDen account to a CDMA account, getting EVDO capable data and unlimited everything for the same price, as long as you can find a 'Clear to be activated' Boost CDMA phone (or even a Sprint branded phone in certain cases).

It probably won't work on a non-smartphone, since the device will need drivers installed (and already had SDIO compatibility) before the card's used for the first time. There's still a number of smartphone that don't have SDIO, so I doubt any 'dumbphone' will have SDIO capabilities. However, I wouldn't be surprised if most smartphone OS+Drivers can solve the "manage wifi selection" potential issue post-install.

Expansys has a MicroSDIO Wifi card that works on WM already (Spectec makes it and provides drivers for it). Maybe these new ones will have drivers for Blackberry and Symbian OS too.
@p3t3b2,

Once you update iTunes, it updates its media library files and makes them backwards-incompatible. So, if you already updated to 8.2.1, you'd be essentially have to reimport your music in (and making a new distinct 'library') just to use an older iTunes version.
Pre users suffer since that makes people have two different copies of iTunes software (or use 3rd party items like Songbird/DoubleTwist/etc) just to sync with the Pre... most casual users won't want to do this.

Plus, if Apple forces iTunes Store users to be on iTunes 8.2.1 or later to buy items (which is very possible, Apple loves doing server end changes like that), then that will just add insult to injury to Pre users.

Apple 1, Palm 0. Palm's serve.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
