While it does everything else, the Iphone has pretty crappy call quality.
Exact reason why I am switching to Verizon. I have used various 3.5G WCDMA networks overseas and AT&Ts would have to be the worst performing and least consistent of themall. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but definitely not worth the premium pricing they charge. In the United States at this point, CDMA is still king.
EVD0 rev A is so much better than 3G. Well definitely when compared to the 3G service offered by AT&T. Lower lag, faster response time, almost instant session establishment, not as many disconnections, rock solid coverage etc. It is just a shame that the carriers are going to abandon it to go for the VHS equivalent European standard. If LTE is anywhere near as crap as HSDPA, thanks but no thanks.
What kills me is the data rates both Verizon and AT&T charge for standard handset web access. $15 for accessing data from a standard non-pda handset is a joke. How much data can someone seriously download using a standard handset. Only tmobile seems to have a reasonable handset only web access plan..

I refuse to pay more than $6 a month to access the web on a standard phone.
Rather than charging people the $4.99 per month, I wonder if sprint has thought about offering access to other Sprint users who are not registered.

Currently you have to pay per month and only 50 or so authorized users can access it. So why not say we will waive the $4.99 if you agree to allow any sprint user in the immediate area to access this micro cell.
Good point.

You will find though that the ~1900 frequency is free for use in quite a few nations. Or at least for local DECT use. Which is pretty much localized calling..
I wonder why Sprint doesn't allow you to take this overseas. I think the opposite would be a marketing hit. AT&T is heavily advertising being able to roam internationally. So how awesome would it be if a Sprint customer could actually use their phone overseas, from a hotel etc. Or even charge an extra $10 per month for the convenience and enforce it using the GPS feature.

Considering most countries only use GSM or WCDMA, this would allow them to offer a cheaper alternative.
How did Sirius take XM?

XM is / was better anyway.

I would check out the netgear version WNDR3300. Same specs but much cheaper
This kind of deal cannot be good for the consumer. The #1 reason I was waiting for WiMAX was to disconnect from comcast; who seem to have a monopoly in most markets. These guys cannot even properly support the limited services they provide running on one cable. Can you imagine calling comcast tech support to diagnose wireless problems.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
