"people dont wanna use a stylus unless your righting [sic] japanese [sic] or something",

People in that "japanese [sic] or something" group make up about half of the world's population.
I don't know, this stuff looks pretty cool:

+ builtin SIP stack (yeah, I know, not new) for VoIP

+ the price undoubtedly will drop significantly in a few months (always has for unlocked Nokias)

And yeah, Nokia definitely has to change these designs, after all, they only sold 10 million N-Series devices in Q1 2008.
3rd party applications include a lot more than Yahoo! Go and GoogleMaps. See http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/software/Nokia_N95/ for a sampling of the kinds of applications that are available.

Moreover, the phone has WiFi, so you're not limited to Rogers' data connection when you need to upload your pics to Flickr or grab a podcast, just wait until you hit a hotspot.

"huge and heavy"

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant.
A number of Sony Ericsson phones have had handwriting recognition for a couple of years now. Here's the latest SE model with it:

@Geir, was that the N95 with the upgraded RAM and battery, and HSDPA 1900 ("US" 3G)? The current N95 model is much snappier and, overall, a much improved N95.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
