My Treo 650 just shivered!
Viruses? Oh, you mean for Windows machines. Man, I've been running Linux so long, I had forgotten that other people still deal with those pesky buggers. I hate that for you.
"c'mon dudes, give us something." - They were going to, but they laid that guy off...
Mac acknowledging and operating with Linux? Itunes on Linux? Hmmm.. That might make the iPhone worth a look. Besides, the best it appears Palm is going to do is the inevitable release of the Sleepeo or the Yawneo. Furthermore, Symbian and Danger apparently have not figured out the viability of a touch screen yet.
I think it's kind of funny that as soon as Microsoft sees their market share being threatened, they start thinking about the less fortunate kids in 3rd world countries. Makes me think of the drug dealer that always gives away the samples so they can get you hooked. "Just say no!"
Support? What about Canonical? It would even be local for many of those kids. What about the open source communities that many times are more responsive than Microsoft? Besides there's not a lot of support that can be given for the BSOD.
Wish it had something other than WinMo on it.
ACPI has been under development and generally screwed up anyway (my experience).

That's probably how it came to light. Someone got an Eee, figured out that this distro handled a laptop better than most distros out there, and went "Holy Crap! ACPI works! What have they not told the rest of us!"

Of course, there is my alternate theory that Ballmer's stirring up the whole furor anyway.
I thought that anything that challenged Microsoft's market share was a copyright violation in some form or fashion. It would not surprise me if Ballmer were stirring this up a bit.

Long live Tux!
Oh yeah! It does.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
