This is corporate greed at its best. I thought the whole locking of phones was crazy to begin with, then changing the code and breaking some well established patches, now this. Shame on Apple!

Break the rules... Go buy a Visa or American Express Gift Card from a grocery store. Load it up with your cash, then use it to buy the iPhone. They (Apple) cannot deny the sale unless you do not have enough value on the card. It "must" be treated the same as an approved credit card transaction or they are in hot water with the credit card companies.

I was thinking about becoming an exclusive Apple household---Not anymore.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
