analyst Anthony has entered room

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:16:33 EST 2007)>how much longer untill the windows mobile 6 upgrade??? and dont tell me soon because i have been hearing that for the last 8 months! every treo 750 user around the world has the upgrade except att customers which is rediculous...if you're not going to release it for everyone then it should have waited untill everyone can get it. palm promised the upgrade this year in the march 27th press release...is that going to be honored?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:16:32 EST 2007)>Hello annoyed_treouser, Thank you for contacting Palm Technical Support. My name is Anthony. How may I help you?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:16:36 EST 2007)>Hello.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:16:54 EST 2007)>how much longer untill the windows mobile 6 upgrade??? and dont tell me soon because i have been hearing that for the last 8 months! every treo 750 user around the world has the upgrade except att customers which is rediculous...if you're not going to release it for everyone then it should have waited untill everyone can get it. palm promised the upgrade this year in the march 27th press release...is that going to be honored?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:17:18 EST 2007)>I understand that you wish to know about Windows Mobile 6.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:17:30 EST 2007)>I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:18:07 EST 2007)>The truth is that we have the build ready.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:18:29 EST 2007)>We are testing it to make sure it will be a huge success with users once it is released.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:18:39 EST 2007)>As of now, there is no ETA for it.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:18:48 EST 2007)>I can do one thing for you.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:19:05 EST 2007)>it needs it takes 8 months to test it?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:19:47 EST 2007)>Well, it does take time to study the Windows Mobile 6 release and build a update with device and carrier specifications.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:20:01 EST 2007)>I can provide you with the link where we post our latest downloads.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:20:12 EST 2007)>i have the link already

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:20:13 EST 2007)>You can check that link in coming days for updater information.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:20:26 EST 2007)>this is very poor customer service on palm's part

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:20:39 EST 2007)>I am really sorry for the inconvenience.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:20:47 EST 2007)>I do understand it from your prospective.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:20:48 EST 2007)>if they weren't going to release it for everyone, they shouldn't have released it for certain users

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:21:08 EST 2007)>Well, the updates are carrier specific.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:21:13 EST 2007)>palm is based in the united states yet we are the last to get this upgrade...that makes no sense

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:21:29 EST 2007)>att has stated that they gave the upgrade the green light months ago

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:21:44 EST 2007)>and the leaked version has been out since july and working perfectly fine

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:22:39 EST 2007)>I am sorry to learn about it.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:22:41 EST 2007)>I will not comment on unannounced products or services.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:22:46 EST 2007)>It is not appropriate for me to comment on that.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:23:02 EST 2007)>Palm will not provide that information.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:24:04 EST 2007)>It didn't take this long to get Vista from beta to release and we see how many machines it hosed. It's not like the AT&t Treo has 450 different hardware configurations. There can't be more than 2-3, and if they have been testing for 5+ months on the 2-3 different hardware configurations and still can't get an update for us but have it for everyone else...that is not fair

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:25:03 EST 2007)>I am really sorry sir but there is no ETA for it.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:25:17 EST 2007)>It will be released near future.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:25:43 EST 2007)>is it going to be released in the year 2007 as promised by palm on the march 27th press release?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:25:59 EST 2007)>It is expected to be released very soon.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:26:11 EST 2007)>what exactly does soon mean?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:26:26 EST 2007)>As I said, we don't have any ETA.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:26:47 EST 2007)>you say you have no eta because palm refuses to give one but you can say it's expected very soon...that's contradicting yourself

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:27:27 EST 2007)>if there was no eta then you cant say it's coming "soon"

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:27:30 EST 2007)>As promised, the updater will be released.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:27:49 EST 2007)>will it be released in the year 2007 as palm stated in their press release?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:28:03 EST 2007)>As it is promised, it will be released.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:28:17 EST 2007)>so is that a yes that it will be released in the year 2007?

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:28:42 EST 2007)>We always fullfil our promises.

Anthony(Wed Nov 7 18:28:59 EST 2007)>You will have the updater as promised.

annoyed_treouser(Wed Nov 7 21:29:07 EST 2007)>yeah...just not in a very timely manner like the updates for the treo 700wx
this is a bunch of bull! i called palm and they said they're still working on the bugs (eventhough they've released the upgrade for everyone around the globe except att customers). i then called at&t and they said (off the record) that the upgrade won't be available til the beginning of next year...so much for palm's "promise" to the customers they clearly don't care about!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
