It's all about the chin!!

This is a mobile first, and a web browser second (or the other way round) - turn the device 90 degrees, tilted roller ball - fits nicely on the thumb and you're off - no dirty marks on the screen - see blog post - http://bit.ly/W6rTX

PS great for gaming?

PPS the logo on the back - let me suggest Google pay HTC $50 a handset for the PR - direct subsidy to get the google phone in the market cheap.

Okay 10m for 2008

Digitimes - 1.5m per quarter (standard run rate) = 6m

New 3G Model - 2m per quarter upgrade (July to Dec) = 4m

Don't forget the europeans will be more keen with a 3G model - and we haven't discussed the possibility of a 'nano' version appearing later in the year.

If they project 10m is that in total?

4m to 2007 - leaving 6m to the end of 2008 - 1.5m per quarter

not unrealisable if they release a 3g version during the year.

I think there is a growing consensus that the iPhone is selling slower in the UK than the US - what will be interesting is if this is repeated elsewhere ... only time will tell.

Nobody disputes it a big move forward on UI, but in the UK the iPhone is very expensive

1. We pay $540 for the phone (not $399)
2. 18 month contract $70 per month (not $60) - unlimited data and 200 mins (not 450 , no rollover, no free mobile to mobile) and 200 SMS (200 plus 5000 off peak)

Its a big heap of beans - and maybe we feel a little exploited.
what if it was always the intention to introduce a 10" model.

Using some very basic high school maths it is possible to theoretically possible to put a 10" screen in the lid of the current form factor.

If all you had to do was change the screen - the economies of scale you could achieve would be great.

Clearly you wouldn't annouce this on day one - because you would miss the original price point $199 original discussed AND no-one would buy the smaller 7" version with space around the screen when you could get an ultra portable laptop for a few hundred bucks more.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
