What else was there when the N95 first came out? First gen iPhone, NO android, none of what we have now. Did other readily-available phones have gps AND a 5mpx camera with a flash and several apps that integrated functionality? It was Winmo, Apple was new, and Symbian. That's it. The N95 was a game changer that came on the verge of a paradigm shift, but got lost in the fray.

The browser is crappy by today's standards, yes, but back then it was very competitive. What other phone even ATTEMPTED to incorporate flash? As a matter of fact, I sometimes switch back to it when I need a stable and reliable phone and am annoyed with my iPhone.

I am going to go ad hom for a sec and suggest that since you are new to smartphone discussion, and you have no CLUE with regard to their history, you go back and read engadget mobile starting at about 2003.

You are an excellent writer but please don't comment until you can properly add to the conversation without screwing up the whole technological timeline.
TouchWiz... heh heh heh.
Seriously, are we still calling people "fanboys" and referring to it as a "Jesus Phone"? :( Now that that is out of the way...

I agree that he is a tool who doesn't actually know crap about the new phone, and who is still living off of the glory of the first phone. He was a pawn and his time has passed so it's good that you ignore his views.

I personally find that reviews by people like yourself are the BEST way to get a feel for things because you're not getting paid out of it and will speak your mind. I really like reading about what other people think and I think Mossberg should be paying US.
This guy? That's Tony Stewart. A very interesting guy.
I'm definitely not going to see this movie now. Not because of the Nokia clip, but because it looks really annoying. Thanks for saving me the 8.50.
If I win, I'll call you and we can discuss it.
Oh if they raise prices that much I am "like, SO" blaming Engadget first!
Are all of these concepts for investors to see? It doesn't make sense to me... I'd feel cheated if I was asked to invest in a cookie company based on their self-purported creation of a new type of magical chocolate chip, I invested, and instead they kept making the same damn cookies.
They're serious about that "multi-touch"? That looks awful in the video... I must have missed something. I'm very happy with my TX2000z... and I actually did have hopes for the Dell tablet, but that entry price is cost-prohibitive in light of the fact that you can get a very functional entry-level tablet (even a Lenovo), produced by a manufacturer with more experience, for less than Dell's.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
