why do third-world peasants get cooler tech than i do!!!

@Shunnabunich

japan is really obsessed with robots for the sake of robots, and in particular, robots that live up to some ficionalized ideal of what a robot should look like. it's not really driven by practical application. i don't believe this sort of work is driving the cutting edge of the field of robotics. its primary real-world value will probably be in the form of applications in the toy industry.

wtf is a pompree?
it seems like a really bad idea to mention the word "tablet" anywhere near a product description. i think they should quickly find a new "working title" for this thing.
@Timerider

i agree. what's the point of such a feature?
by the way, my browser (firefox 3.0.14) freezes for the couple of seconds it takes for a new engadget page to load. it didn't do that before. i mean the entire browser freezes.
i like it. much more masculine. but that's not saying much given the previous color scheme.
that doesn't explain why samsung *needs* to do this, but i guess it could explain why samsung feels safe doing this.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
