@Truth Teller...in opposite world (Great line from a Blyu-Ray exclusive movie Cars)
Stop lying Stan.

-The 1080p 1080/24 Toshiba HD A30 is $125 with 5 freebie HD DVD movies on Amazon USA right now.
Bleh, 5 free movies now and forever, and it still couldnt muster enough support, HD DVD was attractive to the (Dare I say it) wrong genre,people that go cheap, well that being said, lets face it, they dont have enough money to support their format on their own. Price is not everything (Argue that go ahead I dare you, because HDDVD is the proof). You paid so much money for an upconverting DVD Player. You should be willing to invest in the future with BluRay Media being able to to be geared for 1440P (or higher) because of storage availability. Plus room for many other potential futures of High Def ideas that come down the road.

-$125 for a better spec than any of your obsolete & beloved Blu-ray junk.
The only obsolete thing is HD DVD Players and media at this stage (Shut up about upconverting DVD player you paid twice as much as you should have for that feature, you bought the wrong format)

Yeah its $125 now on Firesale. Better spec, its a turd. I have one, it takes 2 minutes (or what feels like an eternity to open the tray to put a movie in it)
Read my lips...I HAVE ONE IT is not better than my Blu-Player Picture quality equal, speed to load garbage, ability for extras, who give 2 sh*ts about the extras in most cases, all I want are the alternate endings deleted scenes and bloopers if any. I am sure that is all that most care about.

"Blu-Ray junk" Stop lying TT. You dont have a wife do you or GF do you, dont lie now. Because you...oh well maybe its a boyfriend. That would start making sense then...Good luck with that. (pmac shuts the closet door on his way out)
This is not a dig on either, but simple facts.
I sell cellular phones, and anyone that wants to say that a windows mobile is more stable (excluding defective devices) is delusional. (Anyone that rips into this is just one that is what they call a fanboy, works for a win-mob company or just likes to try to start arguments, I wont reply to that so dont wast your time)
Windows positive...far more flex for applications for sure. But the hang syndrom does not happen with Blackberry plain and simple. I have had a blackberry supplied to me (from inventory random) for 3 years now, and I have had several (Because I can) and I have frozen one device once.
For the user of email on the go, there is no comparison, Blackberry 100%. But for those that need application flexibility you probably needs windows, but need to live with the device freezing i would hazard a guess once a week minimum with a simple remove battery and reinsert at worst to be back up and running.
I odnt get paid more for a RIM or a PPC, it makes no difference to me, but I can tell you i DOA RMA 10-1 ratio, Windows devices compared to RIM devices. Blackberry seems to have quality control down a little more pat than a lot of the PPC manufacturers (Excluding the Pearl, they seem to be on Par with the rest of the devices)
(This is half meant to be a shovanistic digg but with a little levity) The person who complained about the wife having far more issues than the husband...Well duh! You = Man wont complain just fix it move on. Her = Woman complain make you fix it and she moves on. :)

@Chris...Man dont even think twice about the purchase!! Down twice in a year for a few hours. Big deal. The amount of time peoples windows devices are in the pouch frozen and dont even realize it for 2 hours is far more excessive than RIM's down time. I didnt even know they were down, it doesnt affect phone functionality. When a Windows device that freezes, phone doesnt work either.
P.S. I only reported the item as possibly being fake based on the info here. Posted the link and hit submit. I didn't make any comments on the sellers ethics one way or another, never would (don't care to be honest) I leave the rest to eBay. I trust what I read here because the members and the folks that run the site know a lot more about this stuff than I do. The other issue is, as much as one states money back refund, PayPal only protects the buyer on your account up to 200$ (based on total number of unique feedback and feedback percentage). That gives unscroupulous sellers the ability to sell a $1000 item and paypal will only go after the $200 and the seller runs off to a new account, with $800 in their pocket, buys 50 feedback for 50 (buying 1 cent virtual items like picture of my cat and trading feedback) cents and starts fresh with same scam. Uhh I hope this doesn't give anyone ideas...damn where is that delete button nooo thats the send butt..
If there is a chance that someone is ripping people off, then I am going to report it. I am sick of leaving it up to eBay to catch all the crooks out there. I used to have a store, and every cockroach alive seemed to hit me. No one did a damn thing about it to protect me.
To add further insult to injury, I purchased a Sub-Woofer from a person through PayPal (Using my credit card rather than my account because I dont want my card tied into the account) I received the Speaker today. 40 pounds of garbage. It had no bubble wrap, no styrofoam it was a box wrapped arount a wooden speaker box for protection...the case is cracked feet too, a port on the bottom is falling out of the hole, and the Woofer rattles even at low levels. What do you think is going to happen here. I spent $305 shipped. My visa told me to screw myself we offer guaranteed payment not insurance or fraud (they dont claim this as fraud) Seller said in escellent condition...broken assed piece of junk, is all it is. That is fraud, they misrepresented it, because it is and was broken prior to shipping I have no doubt. So dont ask me to feel sorry for you. I did what I thought was right because no one else stick up for the little guy. Except me if I catch someone. I am pissed today. PayPal and eBay should be gassed for their incompetent protection policies. You should have a credit check done and have to pass prior to selling and buying as far as I am concerned, and not be able to switch names and never be able to create duplicate accounts. If I recall correctly you have 5 feedback or something, and there was a negative (i could be wrong I looked at a few profiles today). The store couldnt have been feeding too much if I am right though.
I reported it to ebay based on your info. I hope you are right.
@HD4ME
I just had a nice reply for you .... but then realized, who cares.
Commenting on me being a teenager, just prooves WITOUT A DOUBT you just make stuff up as you go.
Seek some help for the anger issue, I think you can benefit from it.
Using profanities on an open forum for youth to see is a complete class act on your behalf.
@HD4ME
Narrow vision and an HD DVD fanboy you are and a Sony hater once again.
I own both and you are the typical narrow visioned person that only reads/sees what he wants to read/see.
I don't consider Toshiba an issue at all, there is more than one player in the HD DVD side too. Sony and Toshiba may both have the most to loose, but they are not the end all of the formats. I have no preference. You slam me without reading that I have both, and more than on HD DVD player.
No egg, the comment just makes you look silly.
@Truthteller

You are too funny. Making the same arguement against Blu-Ray, but now you are in a new Camp. Any camp is a good one as long as it isnt something that Sony belongs too. You aren't even anti-Blu-Ray because you just want to bash Sony. I wonder, did they fire you a while back?
Remember when trying to make yourself look credible, SONY IS NOT Blu-Ray...BRA is what makes up the supporters. (Personally I like what the BRA supports, there should be 2 firm members to every BRA.)Forget Sony. It is Blu-Ray you are supposed to bash.
Keep posting, I love watching you trash your own credibility. I don't think you have anything against Blu-Ray, I think you hate Sony for some reason. Mommy and Daddy didn't get you the PS3 for Xmas 2 years ago? Seek some therapy, or a soothing Hot chocolate, watch a Spider-Man flick on DVD, then go out and get laid.
"Its all a bit technical"
from HD DVD Batman :).
(yeah i know regular DVD's have the same quotes :) )
@Gus again!
"He's just anti BR as anyone with any brains should be.
You keep supporting your cartel of choice and screaming for the death of competition,"

Death of competition? There is no competition, there is Blu and HD and one side wants to WIPE the other out, there never has been the intent of competition, in this format WAR. In the BIG picture of HDvsBLU each other wants to KILL the other format. Otherwise they would not be trying to get EXCLUSIVITY commitments from top studios like Paramount or Warner!
The competition lies with a stable end result of that war and then you have all the hardware manufacturers selling their products against each other and letting the consumer make up their minds on whos player to buy not which format, not being forced to buy both to get all the movies they want (does this sound like it is in the consumers best interest??!? AND BOTH CAMPS ARE GUILTY OF THIS), then you will see true competitive pricing. You would have to be an absolute MORON not to see this.
When HDTV's first came out they were EXPENSIVE, to pay for the years and 100's of millions (probably)or R&D. The early adopters pay the most. There are always going to be top end models and lower end lacking some of the better features. Pricing has come down in waves, partially because the initial R&D is getting recovered and partially due to the war. To see this whole thing differently is delusional.
Two formats will not work, not every studio wants to produce double and constantly over produce one movie or another in this format or that. You have one format and you produce x# of disks and that creates less waste and lowers cost...for the disk side of things.
I repeat, I have 2HD and 1 Blu-Ray, I am nutral and an IQ more than 100. I dont have an ego, and I am opened to intelligent, constructive criticism.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
