I think this is going in the right direction also. I am thinking of TV shows where some smarmy geek dude/duddette is standing across the room from some giant monitor with a tablet in thier hand. Instead of using a mouse or searching the tablet, they just look at the screen and do hand gestures on the tablet surface.

Obviously someone has a good idea as the monitor must have some ability to watch the tablet-holders eye movements and be able to track them and correlate their movement to where the person is looking on the monitor. And THEN to interpret what the hand gestures on the tablet mean when associated with the item the eyes are resting on.

I hope that makes sense, and I don' t know why I am not using one right now.
This is an absolutely ridiculous claim. While it may appear to be similar, the price difference gives away what the look does not:

Sherwood Netboxx - less than $700
Thiel Zoet - as per the Customer Support / Technology Services Manager - between $25,000 and $30,000.

Yeah, me being pretty average in paycheck to most other folks, I'll be checking out the Sherwood and leaving Thiel to the 1% of the population that might afford it.
Sure! I'll take a pair.
I don't care, I just want to win something. :)
Split up all the wealth and divide it equally. Then we can all be poor together.
Wow, a whole 2 megapixel camera!!!
WOOHOO!!! More recession helpers!
Sprint, Clearwire, Time Warner Cable, ComCast have all "partnered" to put this out. I think you'll be hearing a lot more about this in the coming year with a full on push in 2010 and 2011.

(I work for one of these companies. As of right now there is a plan.)
So, any word on what 4G phones may be in the offering?

Any chance the Pre would be 4G??????? (or any idea when it's coming out)?
I think global cooperation is paramount, but I think the consumer culture being expected to continue is unrealistic. As nations / peoples, let's band together to build some things that are truely incredible and that would require a global effort.
1) Space ships able to take people to the edge of the galaxy and beyond in a reasonable time span.
2) Skip Moore's Law and really go crazy with some physical R&D and create some mind blowing computing horsepower
2) Then aim all that horsepower at some real issues like Energy
3) speaking of energy. Take some big cash of nations and put a global infrstructure in place to power electric or alt/energy cars, trains, planes.

Heck, I don't know how to solve it other than change perspective of how to live it. Buying more french fries probably isn't going to fix anything. Taking a look at Gene R's research culture would be a better way. Star Trek strikes again...but it may be better than what we are doing.

Oh yeah, I would like some storage please. :)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
