Great for experimental, not so great for potential sales. They might want to take a look at Dean Kamen's original patents for the Segway. If I remember correctly, this design was basically already laid out in that patent app. So.. congrats for building it and showing it off. Not so much for the "original idea".
as politely as possible requesting to be considered.
A small recommendation to BenQ staffers/apologists - non-native English with Chinese grammatical structure equates with a very high likelihood that you are trying to pump a story up and counter-act the negative press anonymously (i.e. without declaring that you actually work for BenQ). Then again... if the previous posters truly believe that this is a new and original product with viable points of differentiation when compared to alternative products, I will hold my tongue.
These went on sale yesterday in Taipei as a joint promotion between Chunghua Telecom and HTC. Confusingly named the CHT9000, based on the name of the carrier and NOT "HTC". Exactly as pictured, but with the CHT logo up top instead of the HTC logo. Pricing with contract is somewhere around 14,000 NTD (about $450 USD) Anyone get their hands on one? They hadn't even opened up the display model yet when I saw the signs going up last night.
Not the first time a delay has arisen from trying to go with a Chinese manufacturer and ending up scrapping the plan because quality couldn't be met and then turning to Taiwan to meet a super short development time with higher quality. Glad to see they woke up.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
