WOW. I am really surprised of all of the fingerprints. Even though I will have a case, I am really starting to have second thoughts about the black.

But, then again, it is sooooo nice.
Ethan,
Not sure what you mean about Japan. Actually, it will be released on the 11th. Which in Japan is actually ahead of California.
Assuming that they will open the doors at Softbank at 9am in Tokyo it will still only be 5pm on the 10th in California. ;)
I have a little question. Regarding the iPhone coming to Japan.
I just read a blog post (still a rumor however, still a bit scary) that says Softbank will be releasing the 8gb on the 11th and the 16th at the end of July. This is one scary aspect however, the thing that really heats my ass is the fact that they have the price listed for the 8gb just around 600 dollars. WTF. How can this be possible? I know it is another country and all and rules are different however, how the hell can a subsidized iPhone be that price when this is supposed to be a cheaper roll out?

Would anyone be able to shed light on this topic for me?
BTW here is the link of the post I read.

Someone please give me some insight. I sure don't want to have to pay this ridiculous amount for this. I mean jeez it's subsidized. WTF
Regardless if it is a camera or not I really want to know which case that is they are using in the pics. Anyone??
A bit off subject however, does anyone know which case is being used in the photos???

Yeah, I suppose you are right. I have broke my iPod Touch out of jail the first day that I got it. I guess I will be doing the same w/the iPhone. :)
@superjeff.

I couldn't agree more. I too will be just like those crazy japs waiting outside at midnight for the new phone. Can't wait. hihihi.

My one question is. I have lived here for quite some time and plan to for a while longer however, should I decide to move back to the states. Will I be able to just pop out the sim and change to a carrier in the states or will I have to buy another phone???

It's about time some release info was announced here. At least I won't have to switch carriers.

Now the big question is. . . WHEN???
Is it me or is the commentator a MAJOR PRICK!!! From the moment that he commented about the camera man shaking the camera at the beginning I knew this guy had a serious attitude problem that needs a proper adjusting.
I too am proud of the new change. I hope you keep it. Just in spite. Lovin' it
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
