MMS and tethering are switched on by an updated carrier file which will need to be provided by AT&T VIA ITunes. Some updated carrier files are floating around iPhone Forums that will enable the MMS and tethering functions.

AT&T needs to perform some type of function on the iPhone account to allow the MMS messages to go through. Back in March when 3.0 was intriduced, AT&T reps were nieve about this and fixed some accounts. My phone is also working with MMS, I have not tried tethering.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
