I bought my iPod Touch knowing what I was getting - and that jailbreak was the first thing I would do with it... If you have one and haven't... think about it, it's easier than you think and adds an incredible amount of functionality.
My PB-G4 circa 2001 cost over $3500... I still use it daily, the battery (second in 7 years) lasts around 3 - 4 hours. When I travel I use a 300 watt inverter in the car that charges my PDA, iPod touch and the PB-G4. Making an issue out of the battery is just dumb... My dad's one month old Sony only lasts 90-150 minutes - If the iPod touch battery is any indication of the MBA's - I love my iPod Touch... I'll let you know what the MBA is like in 3 weeks or so...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
