They are officially in three places: Portland, Atlanta and Las Vegas.
The service has been active in Portland for quite some time but the company waited for the merger to complete.

Comcast can't be a competitor since WiMAX is mainly a mobile wireless technology and Comcast is a cable company.

This is great news for the WiMAX technology. This tells the world the WiMAX is here to stay.

I think is premature to give a verdict like that.
It's a lot easier to have an opinion then actually doing something.
These people worked hard to make this technology a reality and comments like these have no value.

There is another MID available early 2009. http://www.wimaxed.com/ has the latest pictures and the specs. The best part, it works with the new mobile wireless technology WiMAX.
Best of all it supports WiMAX.

I watched one of the videos (though it was in Russian and I didn't understand much) adn it looked quite smooth for a Windows Mobile powered device. You could watch TV many channels on it and it looked pretty good. I don't think you can do that on 3G networks, at least not at that speed and video quality. WiMAX is a winner when it comes to wireless video applications.

WiMAX has the time on the market advantage but even though LTE is years away companies like Verizon and ATT that choose LTE as their future 4G technology will do anything to keep WiMAX as invisible as possible with the existing 3G technology. For example iPhone is one of the factors that will make the existing customers very unlikely to switch to WiMAX.

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
