So I guess you didnt notice the TP2 has no 3.5mm headphone jack, no camera LED, no dpad buttons on the front, and an FM radio diabled in the firmware just for the f*ck of it. It cant even match the X1. HTC sucks.
How about everybody wait for the phone to be released before drawing conclusions. At the very least, read the first paragraph in the white paper:
"This White paper will be published in several revisions as the phone is developed. Therefore, some of the headings and tables in this document contain limited information. Additional information and facts will be forthcoming in later revisions."
So is there any more coverage at cebit? Is phonemag the only one who dropped by the SONY booth?
Well, it has a WVGA screen, 3.5mm jack, MSM7200A processor (65nm = better battery life; 528mhz) multimedia center software, optical dpad as well as 4-way key, nicer keyboard, should actually utilize hardware acceleration, smaller than the tilt, 3.2mp camera (and SONY phone cameras are known to be good), and it just looks sexy. I hate HTC too but no one cares to compete. But when SE and HTC team up, I don't expect it will be a half assed product. I don't know about SE, but SONY always delivers an all around product. Even though HTC will produce it, it is still an SE product, and I don't think they will let HTC screw up the best WM phone to date.

BTW, can I change my password? I dont like having to look up some random number every time I want to post..
Because there is not really a good reason to go above 16bit. Windows mobile supports depths greater than 16bit. The performance hit is not worth the minimal difference.

Why is everyone so amazed by Windows Mobile 6.1? I have it on my Mogul. Its nothin special. I mean it is faster, and memory management is better but theres not much different. Maybe/hopefully MS is still working on it, but as it is now, it is no major overhaul.
Are you there? Can you or someone else go to the memory tab in the control panel and let us know how much free and total RAM it has(after a soft reset if you can). Someone with a preproduction unit reported some pretty low memory. Thanks.
Any new hands on pics?
Yes it is touch screen WM. The GPS chip is the gpsOne in the Qualcomm MSM7200 chipset. It is capable of both stand alone and assisted mode. Assisted is much faster and more accurate, but im not sure if a carrier can/will charge for it. Anyone know? Would ATT be able to tell that you are in assisted mode?
@Hung

It's not up to Microsoft to do the bundling. It is up to Sony. ETEN (I think; I know it was someone) bundled Opera Mobile with one of their Windows Mobile devices.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
