Motorola had this idea a while back and never released it. They called it the Motorola TXTR, I believe.

This sort of thing would be great for a small Windows Mobile phone without a keyboard. I think not needing the keyboard all the time is pretty cool.

Having said that, if this product was built into my iPod Touch, I'd be very happy.
that's other windows mobile phones, sorry
Can someone PLEASE take the .cab and re-engineer it so that we can have Voice Command Dialing over Bluetooth with other phones?
In my book, there's nothing that can do what I want. I have Verizon Wireless until 2010 (my wife upgraded her phone at the beginning of the year and locked us in), and I currently have a VX6700 for the Bluetooth Activesync, Voice Dial, iSilo, and a bunch of other things. Plus, I can install my own ringtones and use any Windows Mobile software I find.

Will any of these options fit as well as what I currently have? I'm guessing "no". Although i'd love a device with Wifi, GPS, Windows Mobile, Verizon, and a huge screen. 64GB of space for movies/mp3s would be great too. Someone gives me that - they can have the $499 I set aside for a 64GB ipod Touch.
Would the ShareCentral work to make a USB hard drive into a pseudo-NAS? That might work for my laptop and my wife's computer to share ...
hello and welcome to 1999!
actually, Americans have appropriate priorities.

In America, we pay per-minute for both incoming and outgoing calls - unlike Europe, where you pay for only out-going calls. So to get some unwelcome call on your mobile that you're paying for PER MINUTE is inappropriate.
My wife has a VZW Treo 650 that's about to die .. she's been anxiously waiting for a 755P so she can keep her existing apps that she loves. It's possible she's the only person waiting, I guess.
totally works. love it. took about 10 minutes to process.

wish the vx6700/vx6800 had built in GPS nav, but that's another story for another time.

if you have a vx6700, you need to spend the time to learn/use/love the ROMs. They make the phone 1000x better.
Brad and cxla, thanks for answering my questions.

Are you guys sure about the VZW Navigator? Is that right from launch?
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
