Pretty stupid of verizon in some aspects. If apple does all the tech support for the iphone then verizon could have saved millions in labor alone that would have been used for training (to support the iphone), depending on how much apple percentage wanted it could have been a wash... i.e save on labor and tech support and loose the same amount on the percentage to apple from the monthly fees.

The model of locked phones seems to just blend with cdma than with gsm... ironically
@jeramy
Summa got fired for hyping everyone up with supposed ground breaking news on the wii, he told everyone to stay up until midnight to get the info... but the info was only that the wii was well under production and would surpass earlier launch estimates... every post on that blog was a flame and I mean thousands of posts... so summa got canned over it...

if summa got canned over hype what does the guy get who wrote a racial slur? (not really a slur, grey area again... more like an insult mixed)

On a side note can't the people sue (that stole the stuff) sue for libel? not like they would, but if they get caught and need money for lawyers and what not, this could be an easy revenue stream..
@30

again I wrote they only put the race not height, age, etc... I say this doesn't belong on a gaming blog site, sadly I will visit here less often... if Summa got fired for the wii bs, then ken should be put to death.

@ ken as a journalist you need to have some sort of integrity.. I guess its of to destructiod from now on
I'm black and it strikes me as on the line... this post is in the grey area that a videogame blog doesn't belong in.

1) why mention a person's race (for description purposes) and you don't give height, weight, age etc...

2) just because its on another site doesn't mean that it is newsworthy, I bet I could find plenty of sites that say ken's gay... doesn't make it repostable

3)the media has a certain way of labeling things according to color (anyone remember the katrina picture thing where a white family is stealing food and the caption says "they are getting what they need" and in the very same paper a black family is steal food from the very same super market and its labeled "looting"?)

No one every mentions race (seemingly) when white people steal tens of billions of dollars, enron anyone? ( not one paper wrote white guy steals millions and ruins people's futures and gets away with it.)

Also there is a huge habit of people on the inside just to blame black people when they stole it themselves (or did it themselves.... like that white lady that drowned her kids and said a black man stole her car, every black man for miles was rounded up and questioned)

I don't think that the post is meant to be racist, but it needs to be understood that perpetuating any stereotype isn't good...

where the is the outcry I want summa's head!!!!! woops
this is really cool. Hope they allow it for the xbox360 :)
I think the new maps for h2 is great, but the public
beta for h3 is
not. Many people will take the beta as finished product and
complain... then post and blog about it... just like what happened
will PSU beta...
well for me a $5 rental is just fine for hd. I hardly ever watch movies more than once, but when I am in the mood to watch a movie I surely don't feel like drudging down to a retail store just to have to ask the sales person where it is and have them go rummaging in the back for it....

tried netflix, but there's too much in a delay in between it being on my list and being in my home, plus that whole making a list stuff really doesn't do anything for me... makes me feel like i'm doing homework.. ugh those days are over!

anyway I digress, 2 bucks for sd tv show is fine, 3 for hd, anything more than that and I'll start recording on my dvd recorder again...
I think it is great, another option for hd content... I think this is the choice until the blu-ray and hd dvd battle is over... I don't know about the movies, but the shows I will buy
Does anyone know what studios are on board? I would like to see more than one studio do... so I won't be left with watching disney movies like on itunes...

I am personally very happy that microsoft is giving the consumer a choice. I don't think sony does... if you ant hd movies you have two venues to obtain such content
I like the lay out of the "pipeline" alot better than the market place.... maybe this pipeline is a test of a design for the market place that will be released with the next update.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
