Its not called sidekick 2008. its called sidekick (2008). its simply named Sidekick and thats it. the 2008 is to differentiate it from the first Sidekick years ago.

Could the Sidekick LX play video?

well, form reading what was posted, it could be done with an ota, but mostly likely with the lx (dont know about slide they didnt mention it). if there wasnt anything in the lx that had video than you would have to get a new device with new hardware that has some sort of video playback

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
