Horrible 3G in Dallas. Very poor penetration in many buildings in central part of city. Tons of dropped calls daily. I'm a physician and it often drops while I'm speaking to patients or other physicians. Love the non phone portion and wondering if I should go back to a Sprint phone(had them prior to ATT and almost never dropped calls in Dallas) and use a Touch for music, videos etc. I am all about convergence but the 3G Iphone is a terrible phone. It is a lot better with 3G turned off but that kind of defeats the purpose doesn't it? I also hate the Edge GSM interference that it causes on speakers, dictaphones, etc.
wanted to chime in that my 3G reception is horrible right in the middle of Dallas where other phones are showing full 3G and where my edge signal is off the chart. something is wrong with the Iphone 3G radio or antenna I think. I would love to think it is software but I'm worried it isn't. Please turn up the heat on this engadget!!! Buyers beware!!
I got mine today. My experience is that it is super fast and is the first time I've enjoyed browsing on my Mogul. I have had a few connectivity issues with the Skyfire server which results in the app closing but that is to be expected for a beta product. This thing has huge potential and will likely revolutionize WM browsing. Embedded video is awesome and web pages look like they are supposed to. Unlike the first poster here I find it extremely fast but I have rev A enabled with the new roms and have pretty good signal where I am testing. We'll see how it is in regular use over the next week or so. I haven't been able to fill in forms from intranet pages on my corporate server that don't have web based login pages such as sharepoint or OWA servers. Not sure what the issue is with that yet. Otherwise, awesome!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
