thanks. i was beginning to lose faith, waiting so long for a Popcorn/Real Genius comment.
I'm in China, on china mobile and i still don't use it. Why not? because my touch pro doesn't support it. and neither does any other popular phone... so you have the trendsetters that are most likely to move to 3G standard, and you don't have any decent phones for them to use. I'd rather have a decent phone with slow data rates (i can often wifi if i want too anyway)
they're usually between 700 and 900 rmb. (between 100 and 130USD)
I have the european Touch pro, and what i really really want is a flat back. the artisticangles don't really help thing thing sit flat if you're trying to rest it on a surface for one reason or another while the keyboard is open. But yes, it too should be flat black, that aspect works quite well.
I don't really get it... Android will be immature for quite some time, If you're using WM6, Android (at first) will not be a logical upgrade, it will take at least 6 months to mature fully. This isn't to say it doesn't have a lot of promise, but featurewise, it's going to be attacking the low end of the market first, Having all the functionality of WM6 out of the box and working reliably is probably a little too much to ask.

and second, in regards to replacing your Mogul... have you seen one of the diamonds in action? held it in your hand? basic functionality may not have changed much, but the size of the unit is significantly different... it's now a pocketable device (the mogul sure wasn't, unless you have cargo pants!) and the screen? Wonderful. This device is really a huge leap from the mogul. So i highly recommend taking a personal look at one before rejecting it out of hand.
I'd be more impressed if the video showed some multi touch on the main portion of the screen rather than just the buttons.
I hope you made extra trips to the strip club, just to screw with the statistics.
Anyone know if it has a backlit keyboard?

I've seen a few spec lists that say so, but not the one on Sony's website (that i could find anyway)

thanks!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
