Wait how does tie in with Verizon's letters to it VoiceWing customers that is telling them that the VOIP service will shut down effective March 31st. The lettter sentout to VoiceWing customers as well as their CS have no recommendations for alternatives.
Kuro is the one to go with. The one main thing with Pioneer that drws me to it is, if one watches SD signal the streching does not distort the picture like others do and I still have not seen another brand do what pioneer does with this Another big factor the black levels on the Pioneer are not even touched by Vizio.
Same shows in N. VA. Plus, based o the letter recieved from Verizon, July 21st will be the day were they go all digital in the area. may be by end of day of the 21st those two channels will appear and hopefully a lot more.
The stores are runing out of this too just like teh iphone itself.
Just an update. It seems that Verizon is not even giving the option to wait for the Sharp and are just shipping the Magnavox instead.
Well I have to say, I do agree with the BestBuy being best. I have purchased more than one flat pannel and Best buy made it much easier to buy from them than at Costco. At least I ended up with the panels that I was interested in than the ones that were displayed at Costco. So far to date, i have not been able to find the panels I bought at a price that even comes close to BestBuy's (in store or even online). That tell you that price was a concern to me as well as the brand and model. They made sure that i don't need to go back to Costco and their after sales follow-up and help is by far better than teh rest. Forget Circuit City, I swore to never shop there and that is because of their bad pre-sales help and I could only imagine how it would be after.
had cabelevision and their signal was great and HD was free (premium HD was based on subsicribtion), now outof the area and the cable provider is comcast which I dislike and their signal is not up to par. Now i am on FIOS and I think it is excelent. The only thing I would like to see from FIOS is more HD channnels.
I was out for a new Plazmas and LCDs looked and compared many (diferent sizes from the 26 and up to the 60 inches and from 720 to 1080. Well after a whole week (settled early on the smaller sets that are below 42) of comparing and reading many reviews and the pluses and minuses of everything I ended up settling with 2 Pioneer 5080 that are at 768. I did the comparison side by side with the 1080p and and with panasonic sharp and Sony and the 5080 was my clear choice. So far after 1 month of use I can say ti is the best decision I made and others who had the 1080p could not beleive teh picture quality on this one and they wished they went for it. Look over reviews in CNET, home theater magazin and others and read up as to where the resolution stacks up to other factors and if the other factors are not there teh reolution means nothing. Another thing, if one is to compare a 720 that was put ut 2 years ago and with another that is a new model now one would also see a vast improvement. My thought is that if you have it now, leave and wait a while untill there is nothing but 1080p in the market and by then the price would be equivelant to what we see now for the 720 prices. Oh yes, did I say the price on each of those 5080 plazmaz were at under $2k each.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
