because all those extra pennies add up to some serious change

I would worry about the magnet too, having had a credit card's magnetic strip zapped once before at an inopportune time. Won't this do the same thing if it's in your pocket with your wallet? (for all you front-pocket wallet keepers) Or if you just held it near your wallet?

Having said all that, it is an ingenious design. Would be great for a cash-only society.

...and btw, it always happens at an inopportune time...

Speaking of Wherever.TV, has anyone tried it yet?

I was considering buying one but I've sent two emails to them asking some questions and never got a response...

you couldn't design a worse shelf to put a completely circular speaker on...

i sure hope it doesn't end up in the pool... but maybe it will -- right next to one of the waterfalls...

but i luv frills
Florida has tried numerous maglev projects but has never been able to get enough political support to finish any of them. There was the plan for maglev routes inconnecting Orlando, Tampa and Miami. Disney to the airport. Port Canaveral to the Kennedy Space Center. Unfortunately some folks were dead-set against them and killed the projects.

What's interesting to note is that these lines can be used not only for passenger service, but for freight, cargo and water:

Anyway you guys could make it a little wider? I'm a huge fan of the piece o' toast form factor.

Come on, you know you want to call this the Bluebird Pidgeon!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
