I'm just loving this new blog format. Props Engadget. On topic, it's not a bad looking phone, but don't see what would make you pick it over the Droid, Hero, or Eris.
I was going to respond to VZW on this, but I guess Engadget did it for me. This was known before the Tour was even available.
Sprint is dropping this but the question is when. It would be ridiculous for them to drop this next year.
lol@Kitti. Okay, I thought I was the only one who noticed that rant.
I have to see a better picture for this phone, and hope that HTC Sense could be ported to this device.
Of course Sprint is jumping on this, it's a CDMA thing. This is great news, but LTE/WiMax was going to solve this anyway. I guess I'll have to wait for someone who has more knowledge in this matter.
I'm more interested in the InstinctQ. Nice looking phone though.
So people are not understanding the point that this is meant to be a low end smartphone. It's a little bit better than the Curve 8300 series, and that's it. RIM is trying to cater to every market now, and that includes people who can't afford their high end phones but want a piece of the action, or people who want a cool second phone. Comparing this to other high end phones is silly.
Sean, all of that is good but does the phone have WiFi? I'm not with Verizon but that would be a great step in the right direction.
Thanks VZW. Smh, what the hell is Sprint thinking? It's going to be a huge make or break, and I hope it's the initial part. I've read the specs for it and while it's amazing, I don't see it helping our limited phone selection.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
