Can anyone confirm that this actually launched in June as Samsung promised? FYI, the LG Watchphone just went on sale last week in the UK.
@Beastage, bunch of new photos at www.flickr.com/lge
Not thick at all, actually. No more than a normal sports watch, like a G-Shock. In fact I think it's thinner than a G-Shock!
Steve, the plastic is pretty solid material and isn't likely to break any more than the opaque plastic used in other phones today. It's like a clearer, hi-tech version of a baby bottle!
With all due respect to Motorola, none of these numbers being discussed are officially from LG. They are based on analysts' research and forecasts so until LG and Motorola make it official, it's still a bit premature to close the book on 2008. :-) That said, Temple is correct that this is a competitive industry. I like to think that succeeding in a competitive industry is better than succeeding as a monopoly!

I don't think the loan will change anything inside the 3 companies. Having worked with one of these companies for 10 years, I can say without hesitation that they still don't get it. Example: spending $15,000/month on a three-story house in a very advanced Asian country for a European manager and his wife when $5,000 condo would have sufficed. This type of exhorbitant spending continues even though there are plenty of local talent who would work for much less. They just don't get it.
No need to get all worked up Calliope, I wasn't aware of Mr. Clark's passing until you mentioned it. Condolences to his family and friends. And you, Calliope, need to temper both you emotions and assumptions, not everyone who leaves comments is trying to be an a$$hole.
Rather than cash, methinks he's doing it for his new grandchildren. He was also in that horrific movie SuperBabies: Baby Geniuses 2 from RIP and double Razzie recipient Bob Clark, of Rhinestone fame. It's painful to watch but my 4 year old daughter loves it.
Delli Lamas, I agree with 90% of your arguments, you seem to know the Asian auto market well. Yes, GM was treated very suspiciously at first. That's why a planned six month acquisition took more than two years to hammer out. My argument with you is that your timing is wrong -- GM was doing well BEFORE they re-hired the workers. In other words, rehiring wasn't the reason the workers began to trust GM, it was because the company was doing well and GM made true on all its promises, including purchasing the Bupyoung plant, getting exports back on track and putting some new sheetmetal on the roads. Rehiring all the workers didn't happen until earlier this year and by that time public sentiment was already on GM's side.

I don't have to check the facts, just ask any of the workers who were there from 2000-2005.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
