It's not for them, it's for the tech journos who'll spend the next week writing/broadcasting/podcasting about how wonderful all the new stuff is. After that, we buy. Speaking of which, I didn't see the keynote but I have a burning urge to get a new iPod...
Dang... I'm old enough to remember when that ad was new :(
William Beem, you missed the point. What s/he said was that anyone who likes the Beatles probably already has them on their iPod (I know I do). So whether they appear on iTunes or not is becoming irrelevant.

Maybe there's a new generation of Beatles fans out there who'll buy their stuff from iTunes. All I can say for sure is, there are only two real Beatles left who might care.
Wow, Nambu stopped responding and crashed within 10 seconds of logging into my account, with fans blazing away. I never even got the chance to press a button. I know it's just a beta, but jeez. Bye-bye.
Agreed. I remember Steve also said once that there was no demand for color screens on iPods, too. What he really means is "you'll get it when I'm good and ready."
I used to work for a tool like you. My boss was also the kind of guy who banned all personal items from desks, including books. And he wondered why he could never keep staff for very long. Needless to say I got out of there as soon as I could.
I guess... if your idea of 'cool' is a 1999 iMac.
*BFFRRRRRRRRAAAPPPP*
this is the perfect solution for all of us who got suckered into buying Bookit (a once-useful tool whose developer took everyone's cash and then never bothered to update it to work with Firefox 3).
I never bought AppleCare, but the genius bar staff at my Apple Store have replaced TWO failed Seagate drives in my Macbook for free, both after the warranty had expired, because of a "known issue" with them.

Unfortunately they'd only replace one useless Seagate drive with another one, so I pulled that third one out to use as a spare and just bought a different brand (whose name I can't even remember, but I can say it's better than the Seagate junk).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
