What I want to know is: are those new MBP's still hinted at in the OS data files? Apple is being too cute by half when dismissing the rumors. It's not, "no new products by year's end" - no, that would be too definitive. Now it's "the holiday lineup is set." Well, does that mean Apple isn't counting new MBPs as part of the holiday lineup?

Worst part is, I was this close to buying my first Mac, and then the rumors hit. First the iMac and new MB, and then the data mining revelations. Now I'm forcing myself to wait until they release the new MBPs, whenever that is. This month, or next spring; doesn't matter, I'm waiting.
There's has no WiFi service for my wife to connect her iPod touch to at the office. No WiFi = no Pandora or any other Internet radio. FM service is better than nothing at that point. Who is would ever whine about having more options?
Thanks for the link to the MacRumors timeline! Looks like we're mid-cycle, as the average turnaround (throwing out the extremes) is around 7-8 months over the last 3 years.

Hmmmm ... decisions, decisions ...
How about that.

I've been planning to buy a MBP after the end of Q3, but looks like I'm going to have to wait a few more weeks.

Buying hardware from Apple is like playing Frogger. I really wish they were a bit more transparent about coming refreshes - I hate the idea of dropping $2k+ on a new laptop, only to have it rendered obsolete a few weeks later.

/sigh
My employer already made the decision for me. After having been supported on iPhones for about a year, we (the 40% of the office on the iPhone) awoke one morning to find that my employer had shut us off overnight due to these very security concerns. Email, contacts, calendars, all gone. We came into the office that morning to learn that we were now a Blackberry-only shop.

They say you never realize what a great thing you had until its gone – they weren’t kidding.

It’s been a painful transition – simple things (visual voicemail, a decent app store, native iTunes support) just don’t exist on the other side of the great divide. My phone has gone from being a major piece of how I experience my day – a real smartphone – to being simply an email and cellular device that takes up too much space in my pocket.

Mind you, all of us iPhone users paid for those devices out-of-pocket, which left a lot of people feeling jaded to start with, but this has been a nightmare.
Thanks for reminding me, I've been meaning to give them a call and cancel my subscription. I haven't changed my unit from Aux to the XM input in several weeks - not since reception magically improved in my neighborhood. The commute to work is 100% Pandora for me.
Pick me pick me!

Of course, if I win this book, I'll need to fork over the cash for a Mac upon which to actually develop this app. I don't suppose I can get one of those if I win, too, can I? :P

I certainly hope this isn't what Blizz has in mind by "Healing should be more interactive and interesting."

As a healer, the only things I have to look forward to in this patch are dual spec and the fact that maybe now I'll be able to compete with Resto Druids on the healing meters.

The spirit nerf just means I get to watch one more bar (that blue on under my green one) and occasionally sacrifice a DPS to get a bit more mana and keep the tank up (though as an upside, perhaps now DPS will remember that they have self-heal abilities they can use in a pinch). The scores of folks picking up a resto/holy spec mean more competition for raid spots, and even more competition for gear when I get in there ("it's for my off spec!" says the shadow priest/bear tank/cat DPS).

If by "more interactive" they mean "ZOMG MANA!!!!" and by "more interesting" they mean "WTF WHY DID MAGE ROLL ON SYMPATHY!!!!1!!" then ... yeah.

To be honest, if my guild didn't have Naxx on farm right now, or if Ulduar slipped and didn't make it in, 3.1 would be the "/quit" patch for me.
Meh.

In that time period (1.5 years combined effort) I'll likely have several other proto-drakes, including the green, plagued, blue, and possibly even the red.

Not so sure I really mind at this point, just bugs me that (as I'm sure others have) I skipped the meta-achievement on the strength that the time investment involved to try again will likely outlast the duration of my subscription to WoW.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
