What's been frustrating for me, is that starting with Borderlands my otherwise-stable system decided to occasionally crash and shut down in the middle of a game. Nothing in the event logs, nothing in the game logs, just a sudden momentary freeze, the lights on my USB peripherals go out, and then the monitor loses signal and my machine goes silent.

This is an Intel X38 chipset system running a Q9400 with 4850's in Crossfire mode.

Strangely, the problem also started kicking up with Dragon Age: Origins. So I'm not going to say this is a Borderlands issue, rather than some kind of Win7 / x64 / Heat issue that's popping up.
Totally worth it. Last year was awesome to watch just as a spectator, I'm hoping to be able to spend some time there next year seeing that it's a 24 hour race. Woo.
What I'm finding curious about iTunes 9 is the fact it had me log into my iTunes store account in order to share over my LAN? WTF is up with that?
I'm wondering if they may have pulled them to replace them with OS 3.0 based models, instead of new physical hardware.
I got back into CoX a few months ago, and I've found that it really has changed a lot since I played it way back at launch. The mission architect system works pretty well, and they just nerfed some major exploits that were being used to gain levels far more quickly than usual. It really has gotten a lot more depth and fun, if you're into the story they put out there..
I see an awful lot of hate directed at Bethesda, when it seems to me that the bulk of the problems that they've had with Fallout 3 DLC don't come from Bethesda, but from Microsoft.

Games for Windows Live is the real villain here. It's a horribly broken system with one of the most craptastic user interfaces in recent years. Microsoft is completely screwing this up, and Bethesda's greatest problem was being dumb enough to blindly take Microsoft's money for an exclusive DLC deal. When Microsoft (or anyone else) make exclusive DLC deals, everyone loses because Microsoft isn't being taken to task for this kind of BS.
I think the fundamental idea behind the Peek is a great one. A lot of people, and by that I mean "People who don't read Engadget" would probably love to have a little device that let them read and reply to email on the go without any other confusing options. If I hadn't gone smartphone crazy with a Pearl and now an iPhone 3G, and wanted to have just basic email, I would have snared myself a Peek long ago. Everything I read tells me that they're a small company trying to make a niche for themselves, and I hope they manage to do it.

These devices definitely aren't perfect, as the Pronto's need for speed helps illustrate. But I don't think they need to do much to the hardware except maybe boost the RAM and CPU power. Wifi? Why bother, to be honest. Without a web browser, you don't need to handle that much bandwidth throughput. It'd just cost too much money to manufacture, and kill battery life.

My mother has a bed and breakfast way up in CDMA-only-land, and if they had T-Mobile service in her part of Maine, I'd suggest she get one.
I could always use a nice new way to read old media.
Okay, fine, good, whatever.

Warship Gunner 3 for PS3, please?
I could go for one of these.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
