squiggleslash- what are you talking about? Neither the iPhone 2g or 3g had this "custom" sim card you talk of.
Everyone always has to claim someone a "fanboy" or "bias" just becuase they dont agree with it.
I highly disliked Apple products just because of all the hype surrounding their iPods and macbooks, never giving a chance to actually try em out to see what the hype was about. After the iPhone released i have used and played with numerous friends iPhones plenty. For what it is, the phone is a great product and actually made me look at Apple completely different.
I, myself, am a fan of RIM phones and couldnt wait to see how the Storm was gonna be when it came out.
Who else than them could possibly make a touchscreen phone that runs head to head with the iPhone.
After playing with both, i agree with everything Engadget has said and am actually a little disappointed.
Bias? Well... im currently carrying a Bold and was always indecisive when it came down to purchasing the iPhone or going with another as a second line.
Waited for this phone and now that its out, my choice is solid.
iPhone it is.
Now ill have best of both worlds, RIM qwerty + Apple touchscreen.

The peoples comments who claim bias or fanboy or iPhone-killer, IMO, are the ones who are actually bias.
Responding in a defensive way to back up what their bias towards whether it be because they hate At&t, Apple or just love Verizon, RIM too much to beleive their products are not as good in some aspects.

Conclusion: Give the iPhone credit where due. It was THE phone to set the bar, not to mention the first phone made by Apple.
the Voyager was claimed to be an iPhone killer by some, as well as the Instinct. What happened to those phones? Is there anyone comparing any new devices to them??
IMO the iPhone is STILL the phone to compare to and beat, even a year later. Impressive.
Not sure anyone cares much but it also has video recording.
Thats a plus to me. 8)
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
