I'm actually an employee of rogers Wireless, I was wondering how much about this had hit the market.

Essentially, The 20 dollars a month is going to give you unlimited long distance in Canada, from any PUBLIC wireless internet point (Not just Rogers) on the Supported Models of phones. This was soft launched a few months ago as a testing by a few sudbury employees and it was a definate success. UMA is currently used by T-mobile, but Rogers is the first to bring it to canada. It's going to be great.

If your current phone has Wifi, There's a 90 percent chance you're still SOL on this issue, the only models that currently support the Home Calling Zone (HCZ) are the Blackberry Pearl 8120, and the Nokia 6086, which is essentially a UMA version of the 6085.

The Bonus to UMA and Rogers HCZ is how the billing works. Your Phone will make a Seamless Handover to the GSM network from the WiFi as soon as you leave Wifi range, but If you start the call in Wifi, then move to GSm, the Call will be totally free. And Vice versa. If you start on GSM, and Move to Wifi, You'll be billed for the entire part of the call. (It works the same with Evening Minutes. Make a Call at 5:59 when they start at 6 and you're billed for the whole call, And Vice versa)

With the billing working this way, You'll be able to call across the country, then leave your house and drive to work. It's something that's designed to replace a Home phone, but Rogers Rep's are not permitted to Position it in that manner.

I'm no spokesperson for the company, I'm just trying to provide some insight. Nothing is fact. Don't call me and Claim that you read it on the internet and were misinformed. It'll get you nowhere.

But thanks for listening :)

"With all the new multitouch capable monitors coming out, which one is the best? With the release of Windows 7 I really want a touchscreen monitor for my desktop. I'm looking to get a Full HD monitor that supports multitouch and can still look great during gaming and movies. Which one has the best specs for the price?"
