Well, if Google wants Cyanogen not to distribute the Google Applications like gmail ,maps and youtube, then why arent they:-
1) Available as separate download on market.
2) Why is their source present in repository same as Android?(exception is Maps, which has its own separate API).

Remove the google apps from Android source and then developers should be able to freely customized their ROMs.

So, instead cease and desist, they should have removed the code for gmail, youtube from Android source repository and encourage developers like Cyanogen, who are making Android popular.

So, what happens to developers with Android Dev Phone 1? They need to buy another developer phone? Doesn't make sense at all.
I know that Engadget is big fan of iphone but do you guys have to bring in Iphone with any other phone post?

Also, the phone has decent features which I am sure not available in Iphone 's default build:-

1) Prayer reminders
2) bike specific profiles that allow only calls from certain individuals through.
3) The Crest Solar sports what Samsung is calling Mobile Tracker, a system that will send an alert when the phone's SIM card is swapped.
Happy Holidays to everyone.
Is Sprint going to add myfaves in new android phone? :P
That's amazing price for unlocked phone.Cant wait to get hands on one :)
Why are ppl being so excited? All the leftover iphones from US are being offered since iphone next version is going to come in US. It is like selling windows 95 when windows xp is available soon. I dont know about south america, but ppl in india , careless about iphone. They already have better version of Nokia available unlike ppl in US.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
