I too have a great affinity for apps (like this) that make a specific task simple. This same affinity lead me to dream up a way to make planning for and making meals simpler (and more fun). If you have access to an Android phone, try our app, Cooking Capsules! Or in the meantime you can follow along with our evolution on our website:

I'd love to know your thoughts about and experience with our app. We are working on improvements all the time (while still keeping it simple) and of course will be adding more recipes as we go.

Hi,
My Android Challenge partner and I were one of the 50 teams chosen with the app. we entered, "Cooking Capsules".

I wanted to make a correction: We (the 50) actually won $25,000, not $10,000, although once we split it and pay taxes on it, it will probably look more like 10. ;-) We are pulling for the $275,000 next round. Fingers crossed! Winners of that phase will be announced this summer. Either way, I can't wait to use it on smart phones next year. It should make cooking a lot handier and more fun.
Cheers,
Mary Ann

"I'm looking for a solid state drive, around 32 to 64GB, for use in my web server. The drive will contain my web sites and the operating system, either Windows Server 2008 R2 or Ubuntu. Large storage is handled by a separate RAID array, so capacity is not an issue. Rather, I am looking for the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable drive under $150 that is suitable to my application. Any thoughts? Thanks!"
