The third gen Ipod nano reincarnated as a phone.
Out by Christmas huh. So this kinda kills the Diamond. I bet a lot of people who were waiting for the Diamond are just going to wait the extra couple months for this now. That's definitely the case for me.
@Smartphone OSX = iPerfection

They aren't trying to overshadow Apple. I think they had the date first. Engadget has a story about this event from 8 days ago. They've had the date set for a while. And Apple just announced the date of their event this week. If anything, Apple picked their day to overshadow Microsoft. Although I doubt that's the case either.
I'm guessing that's the German keyboard config.
Grr. this should have been a reply to Jonathan Ziemer
I'm pretty such this isn't a touchscreen phone at all. That's why its got the numpad up front. Also, there's no "Touch" in the phone's name.
There are only two kinds of stores: a-la-carte and subscirption. They certainly didn't make the subscription service DRM free. That would be unlimited free music for a flat monthly fee. The DRM free music IS a-la-carte. The DRM free store and the a-la-carte store are one and the same.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
