Boy am I glad I didn't get the S4is already because this new color scheme is smokin'!

Can't wait to get these:)
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. The PC world needs more of this.
@TechCrunch

Hate to say it, but that's exactly what I was thinking as well.

At the end of the day, I just remind myself, "dude, it's a phone and the one I got does the job". But then, this is how it is for us tech/gadget enthusiasts.

Agreed and we can always rely on Engadget to provide subjective writing and reporting. It's good that you think it's all that Vladislav, but don't try to sell it to us, especially to those of us who think it does look like a printer or metal box.

For the record, I personally think the current Xbox in black looks good or at the very least, I'll take it over this "box" any day.
Like all new things in the tech world, this will garner much attention. It helps that it is different and of course, being a product from Google doesn't hurt.

Most of us will try this, whether out of curiosity or to indulge our geekiness, then revert back to our trusty Windows, Mac or Linux distro desktop. Of course naturally, there will be some that will stay as there are quite a few out there who could care less that they're using a computer and just want access to the internet and their social networking site, which are the only things that matter to them.

I've got to say, this OS feels somewhat more akin to an instant on OS but more fully featured. I could see this replacing the other half-baked Linux varieties being used at the moment instead.

I honestly believe there is plenty of room for competitors in the tech world, but for the love of God, as long as nothing gets stuffed down our throats-I don't care for Cloud computing nor want it.
@CJ

You are absolutely on point. As someone who used to be obsessed with getting the best sounding MP3 players, I used to absolutely hate iPods with a passion because of their sub par sound. However, they have finally reached an above average baseline in terms of sound quality now where you really have to be absolutely picky to complain (your average listener won't really be able to pick the difference). Of course, they're still clearly inferior to Cowon and Sony players.

I'm fighting off my urge to buy a Sony NW-A847 from Japan (as it's only available to the Japanese market).

Totally agree with you as I also own an iPhone 3g and have the very same gripes. I did come from WinMo years back and I remember how flexible and customizable it was even with it's shortcomings.

I have to say that as per usual, all it takes is a lot of attention and marketing for people to prematurely jump onto ANY bandwagon. Yes, I'm referring to the freshman Android fanboys. Why people must base their loyalties on hype and marketing is beyond me. Now I'm not saying Android is bad by any means, in fact, I think it has great potential by being mostly open (many developers and people in the know will tell you that it isn't as open as Google would have you think).

From what I can perceive, through all the unjustified bashing, WM6.5 seems perfectly fine which just doesn't cut it as consumers are expecting much more due to the high standards set by the competition. We all wanted to see them step up and deliver a great offering, not necessarily a spectacular game changing one as we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

Anyhow, I'm enthusiastically looking at the HD2 as my next toy/phone>.
Well this is definitely positive news indeed:) I like WebOS. Now they just need to release a Palm device to other parts of the world.
Wow...just got around to watching the clips and even for a pre-production model that they're demoing, Mediascape was sluggish as heck. Looks like I'm leaning towards the other phone I'm looking at... :p
Finally... the wait is over. I hate anticipation >.< Only two phones I want, this and the HD2. Now it's down to performance in general between the two as I don't really have a preference for either WM or Android at this point.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
