"swiping works just like it does on a Multi-Touch trackpad"

Except that on a trackpad it's 2 fingers to scroll and 3 to swipe, whereas on the Magic Mouse it's 1 finger to scroll and 2 to swipe. This will no doubt be annoying to people who regularly use both a trackpad and a Magic Mouse.
for a computer, AppleCare is definitely worth the price. My BlackBook had some logic-board issues. replacing that alone and the AppleCare paid for itself. Shortly thereafter, the hard drive crashed - another free replacement. I was still having problems with the replacement logic-board, and when i brought it back for the 3rd time in about a month, they gave me a brand new unibody MacBook.

sure, it would have been nice to not have all those problems in the first place. but getting an upgrade to a new computer made me forget all about the previous issues.
Maybe I'm missing something, but when I use GarageBand to make
ringtones, they always come out slightly distorted. It's not
terrible, but definitely noticable compared to the orignal track.
in case anyone is wondering, this works on unibody macbooks. at least it did on my macbook5,1. there were issues with the previous version of pwnage tool for iphone 2.x software not working on unibody macs. looks like the dev team figured their way around that snag. awesome!
since the 1st iphone wasn't subsidized, and apple got kick-backs from at&t on the contracts, they didn't allow anyone to use employee discounts.
pre-ordered mine online. my girlfriend waited to long, so the shipping for hers was going to be too late. so, i went to the local apple store at 6:45am. the line wasn't too bad and they had actually opened the doors at 6. walked out the door with activated phone about 45 mins after getting in line. mine showed up around 12:30 courtesy of FedEx and was activated in just minutes. very easy process overall. we both had the 3G before this.

3G S is great, though i wish they kept the old style of writing on the back - now it's silver and looks crappy. also, the included headphones have a really cheap looking plug - different than all the previous iphone/ipod headphones.
yes, the 3G S has a updated headphone port (relative to the 2G and 3G) to support the volume control.
i also had the delayed "library update" message several days (and a few openings of iphoto) after installing the update. however, my library updated without issue. in fact, it updated quite fast, considering i have 13,000+ photos in my library.
And a very useful feature is that you can now create a smart album that with the single condition:

Face -- is -- unnamed

This will capture any photo with at least one unnamed face, helping you assign names to all your Faces.
Under the "Window" menu, select "Manage My Places". This allows you to see all the Places you've added, as well as rename and/or relocate them. Hope that helps.

I feel your pain with the overall disappointment, though. When I first got iPhoto 8, I spent many hours assigning places to almost my entire library. Then, just before last weeks update, I noticed that the location info had vanished from about 2/3 of my library. Luckily, I restore back to a good library from Time Machine, but I had to reimport all the photos I had added since iPhoto decided to undo my work.

I hope this update has worked out these serious bugs. Overall, I love the new Faces & Places features.

"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
