That's why so-called "web 2.0" is teh FaiL. Anyone who's willing to trust *user reviews* of some anonimous and by definition irresponsible poster (hey, they aint even got a name to keep!) over reputable, old-school "web 1.0" edited sources, totally deserves to get scammed.

also,, I wonder why Belkin, or anyone else for that matter, bother with producing anything at all. With carma-pimp...pumping skills like that, they should just earn fortunes selling on ebay!!!
Stoically refusing to release any post-razr model that looks even semi-decent on US and European markets for years is a sound strategy to get Moto's mobile department outta the hole it's in. I mean, wtf?
Two pages and no Pulp Fiction quotes???? guys that's a shame. Back there in P.F., a foot massage led to a guy falling down many storeys through the window.
Foot massage is a dangerous thing, huh!

A little less sarcasm, tho, why cant people put it in the law somewhere, *using things outside of their original intended use is totally at user's peril!* It could save tons of paperspent writing it in each and every manual.
Wonderful! This thing has a definite advantage over HTC Touch Pro or whatnot: in hostile negotiations (c) with owner of the latter, our fried here, folded, makes FAR superior argument.
As for "nothing sinister", if I am to take your thing and do what I (not YOU) think is right with it, clearly doing it openly or covertly changes the definition of offence, but doesnt make it legit either way.
Now, I may discover a product that has a built-in plans for violation of my ownership rights. In such an instance, I retain thee right to stay as remote as possible from said products at my sole discretion. I will then make a reasonable effort to purchase a competing product.

Honestly, if Google is to promote an "open" platform, they could do better then that. And no i'm far from iPhone fan, same crap. but you know, there are two other systems on the market (WinMo and Symbian) that while lackign somewhere at least threat me with some respect. I mean holy baby, if the application turns out to be malicious, I dont need Big Brother taking control, I need the darned "delete" button, what's in that is so hard to understand for'em, that I'm no brainless imbecile?
a1200 was the phone I bought for my GF. Works miracles: looks both very good and really original. Build quality was 6/5 (she does tries hard to physically destroy any gadget she can get her hand on, a1200 surviving for over a year in her hand could easily claim endurance badge.) Plus it's a full-on touch smartphone in hiding (in that you need some shamen dances around, but after all's done, there's a handy prog for most of anything you ever want for it).
So if a1600 is simply a1200 with trendy flush touchscreen, it's already solid. (Oh and I almost forgot, price for a1200 seemed very reasonable for what a nice device it is, so I could hope a1600 is not far away too).
So basically the ONLY question is why Moto doesnt want to put just a little more effort into this phone (little compared to RnD to get it up and running already) and market it worldwide...? I'm damn sure it could find a customer base even for original looks alone (and mind you yet again, its actually a solid phone underneath, too)... MOTO! Wake up while you still can!!!!
I love the "pro" arguments:
'Hey guys, i am getting pwt by bad and/or expensive service, so instead of un-sucking myself I'll buy more of that horses... substance ;) and will hide being owned there behind being owned here" ;)

Seriously, 400 bucks for a combination of keyboard (~15$), not-that-good LCD (~100$ on a good day), and horrible design (- ~ 20%-30% on the package is pretty fair discount for being ugly)... Go buy it now, people?
Samsung and toshiba are the same for da Engadget folks? Way to go, high pro.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
