Over a hundred lined up at midnight in Manhattan to buy. Check out CNET. Looks like it's going to be a big, big hit.
Does anyone know if either Best Buy or Walmart takes Verizon give cards as payment for the phone?
Wouldn't all that mattered be whether or not people are finding faster browsing speeds though regardless of how?
I'm surprised nobody has commented on the unfortunate timing and possible confusion that may arise from Yahoo's You ad campaign which is also in full gear right now.
Um, I just saw a quick commercial for a Windows phone on....wait for it...AT&T. I was caught by the music and looked up in time just to see the end which briefly showed a slab phone with a big screen and only said "Windows phone coming to AT&T." Or something to that extent. It was on CBS, FWIW.
No, I deal in specifics versus your grandiose incorrect generalization. Goldman Sachs ain't hacks beholding to some adolescent need to self-identify with a tech toy.
Uh wrong, Goldman Sachs estimates they sold 670,000 Pres.
Geez, guys, this was an easy one. No need for any of the Boy Genius stuff. Verizon confirmed it, no if, ands, or buts. They're employing hardball negotiation tactics, the dicks.

"We Said, They Said

Verizon denied rumors that it had decided not to carry the Pre. Jim Gerace, executive director of media relations at Verizon, told the E-Commerce Times that the wireless provider will offer the smartphone in January as planned."

Gee, just next time ask me. :D
Me!!! I need to win for real back-to-school son whose laptop died and poor mom is unemployed! Me me me!!! Let me be queen for a day!
iPhone 4G?!?! LOL Not this year, not next, and not AT&T. Verizon has just about given up on LTE for anywhere in 2009.

Maybe your memory has been screwed up by Sprint's NOW network commercials and the "soon to become the first 4G network" slogan. Sprint is the Pre's carrier.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
